Yamaha Hardware Voice Deployment

Copy voices directly to USB drive root. Load on keyboard via [VOICE] button → [USB 1].

Step 1: USB Drive Preparation (FAT32 & Root Folder)

Essential for keyboard file visibility

Yamaha arranger keyboards require standard USB formatting and will not automatically browse deep folders:

Format as FAT32 / exFAT: Ensure your USB flash drive is formatted to FAT32 (or exFAT on Genos/SX920). NTFS is not supported.
Extract ZIP & Copy to USB Root: Unzip the downloaded VoicePack.zip on your computer, then copy the .vce files directly onto the ROOT directory of the USB drive (outside any subfolders).

Why this matters: If .vce files are nested inside multiple folders, Yamaha keyboards will only show the folder icon until you manually tap to navigate inside. Putting them in the root makes them appear instantly!

Step 2: Loading .VCE Voices on Your Keyboard

Yamaha .vce files are standard hardware voice files compatible across PSR-SX920/SX720, Genos 1/2, Tyros 5/4, PSR-SX900/SX700, and PSR-S975/S970/S950/S750:

Insert your USB flash drive into the [USB TO DEVICE] port on your Yamaha keyboard.
Press the [PART SELECT - RIGHT 1] (or [VOICE]) button on the keyboard panel.
On the touchscreen or display, tap or select the [USB 1] tab.
Tap R1 - [VoiceName].vce to load it into Right 1.
For multi-voice layers, press [PART SELECT - RIGHT 2] → [USB 1] → load R2 - [VoiceName].vce (and repeat for [RIGHT 3] if desired).

Step 3: 2-Second Native Registration Memory Shortcut

Save complete multi-part layers permanently

Once you have loaded your Right 1, Right 2, and Right 3 voices and balanced your layer volumes, save them instantly into your keyboard's hardware Registration Memory:

Ensure the [RIGHT 1], [RIGHT 2], and [RIGHT 3] part buttons are turned ON on your keyboard panel.
Press the red [MEMORY] button on your keyboard panel.
Press any Registration Number button (e.g. [1]).
Press [REGIST BANK] on screen/panel → Tap [SAVE] → Name your bank and save it to User memory or USB!
